Kora 0.0.2

Published 28 August 2026. View the release and downloads .

0.0.2 turns the initial language into an agent-focused pre-alpha platform. It adds the execution, safety, integration, testing, and observability pieces needed to build and inspect real agent programs.

Changes

  • Typed analyze() calls with OpenAI and Ollama providers, typed results, cassettes, and image inputs.
  • Agents, tools, parallel for, token budgets, human pauses, and durable journal-and-replay execution.
  • Classified data, scoped declassify, sink policies, and kora audit.
  • Native json, fs, time, re, http, csv, sql, and env modules.
  • test blocks, typed mocks, OpenTelemetry tracing, language-server support, and MCP and Python sidecar integrations.
  • Distribution through release archives, npm, Homebrew, crates.io, and the VS Code Marketplace.

Breaking changes

No intentional breaking changes from 0.0.1 are documented for this release. Kora remains pre-alpha, however, so projects should treat the documented language and configuration surface as version-specific rather than relying on unstated compatibility.

Migration from 0.0.1

Existing 0.0.1 programs remain the starting point. Upgrade the CLI, verify the installed version, then run the checker before changing application code:

npm install -g @abhishektomar/kora-cli@0.0.2 kora --version kora check main.ko

You can then adopt new capabilities incrementally. For example, add a kora.toml model configuration before using analyze, and add explicit sink policy before moving classified values across a boundary. See the installation guide, language guide, and reference for the exact syntax.

Compatibility

Use 0.0.2 when reproducing a previous release. New work should use the latest release and its release page. The current development branch may contain features that are not present in 0.0.2.
