Kora 0.2.0

Published 30 August 2026. View the release history and downloads .

0.2.0 expands Kora’s agent and workflow capabilities and makes provider failures explicit outcomes that programs can handle.

Changes

  • Model calls can return Failed(reason) when a provider times out, refuses a connection, is rate-limited, or returns a server error.
  • match arms support guards, and the else binding keeps successful paths concise while requiring failure handling to diverge.
  • Mocks cross parallel for boundaries, so fan-out workflows can be tested without reaching a real model.
  • The language server resolves package imports for completion and go-to-definition.
  • The examples and public documentation now cover agent and workflow patterns.

Breaking changes

analyze results now include Failed(reason). Existing exhaustive matches over model calls must add a Failed arm, or use the else binding when Uncertain, Exhausted, and Failed should be handled together.

Migration from 0.1.0

Add a provider-failure arm to every exhaustive model-call match:

match analyze(data, "classify"): case Ok(result): use_result(result) case Uncertain(reason): handle_uncertain(reason) case Exhausted(meter): handle_exhausted(meter) case Failed(reason): handle_provider_failure(reason)

When those outcomes share one recovery path, use the concise form:

result: Result = analyze(data, "classify") else: handle_failure()

Upgrade and verify an existing project:

npm install -g @abhishektomar/kora-cli@0.2.0 kora --version kora check main.ko kora test main.ko

Compatibility

Kora remains pre-alpha. This release intentionally uses the minor version for breaking changes while the project is below 1.0.0.
